Exterior Painting & Decorating Beckenham - Garden Log Cabin
BackLocation: Beckenham
Project: Painting Decorating Garden Room Cabin
What Was Involved: We carefully masked and covered the small plastic window trims along with lanterns and exterior sockets to the side.
The building first had 'Knotting' applied as this prevents timber knots from bleeding through.
The manufacturers of this cabin specified a 'Sikkens' paint / laquer system (Sikkens originates from the Netherlands and is renowned for high quality).
The primer coat was firstly applied, being a oil based system this is harder to apply than an acrylic based system and care has to be taken not to over apply leading to runs.
The light grey tinted Sikkens Rubol Satura top coat was applied making sure as to push the paint right into every join, crease & corner as we didn't want any of gold timber to be seen on close inspection.
The windows received two coats in brilliant white to make a feature and contrast against the grey.
The bottom timber around the building and the front & rear gables were colour matched to the decked patio area in a dark grey, this again gives a lovely contrast and does not show dirt and mud splashes as much as a light colour would at ground level.
