Project: Painting - Decorating Pergola and Decking 

What Was Involved: We carefully masked and covered the windows underneath the pergola with plastic sheeting. Dustsheets were also laid to protect the concrete version of the patio. 

The pergola was lightly sanded before we applied two coats of Cuprinol Garden Shades in 'Urban Slate'. This was their garden 'paint' version of their range. The product was applied generously with two full heavy coats.

The decking was first pressure washed to remove as much of the old product and inground dirt before we then swept it down when dry. We used Cuprinol Anti-Slip Decking Stain in 'Urban Slate' (specially formulated for areas of foot traffic), applied very generously with various different sized brushes to ensure that we could stain right into the grooves between the deck planks. This would completely eradicate any traces of the previous golden colour. 

It's very important not to scrimp on the product itself, so we used a total of 30 litres in two full coats ont he decking and raised flowerbed deck trimmed areas alone.

The clients were very pleased with the results; all carried out just in time for their baby son's 1st birthday garden party that weekend!
